Last week when I set up my yahoo account on my iPhone, it automatically retrieve the new emails. However, the last 2 days, I have noticed it doesn't automatically retrieve the emails anymore. The only way I get new emails, if i got to my email account and click on inbox and then it updates and then I get new emails.

How can I get it to do it automatically like before?

Make sure push is on. Go to Settings>Mail, Contacts...> Fetch New Data> Push.

Have you tried power cycling the iPhone? What about deleting then recreating the account on the iPhone?

What kind of e-mail is it? Have you had issues before?

My Friend just went through this after updating to 3.0 on his 3G.
He had to remove his email accounts ( he has 4, and 3 of them are Exchange) reboot, and then add them back and hasn't had a problem since.

My sister dropped her 3GS iPhone the other day. Everything works ok still except her email.
she clicks on return or new mail (create) and it wont bring up a keypad.
Can anyone suggest a solution for this?
Thanks very much

Probably doesn't have anything to do with being dropped. I would do a quick hard reset (press and hold both the power button and home button and don't release them until you see the Apple logo come back on the screen) and if that doesn't fix it I would delete the email account from settings and then add it back.

Thanks for that.
One more question.. she bought this phone in the USA, and she lives in Australia so she had to jailbreak it. Will this wreck all her settings?
sorry for such a vague question but we are both kinda clueless when it comes to these things.
Thanks again

No it won't have any ill effects on the phone, settings, or data. It's just like a tune up. Now if you do a restore that's when you can wipe away settings and data.

Good morning. Today when I went to look at my mail, after touching the icon it goes to email list then always goes back to home icon screen. It will let me open a email but again automatically goes back to home screen after a few seconds. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Insight, it has been working fine for almost a year.
