I am on iOS 10.1.1 and have downloaded ipsw file for 10.2. While restoring to 10.2, I was getting error 3194. Now, I goggled out and then have added these lines at the end of hosts file on my windows xp desktop :-

74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com
74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com

After adding these lines, am getting error 17. There is no connectivity issues at all.

Can anyone please help me ? I am desperate to jailbreak my iphone 5s.

Just to add, am on latest itunes and have already disabled firewall with a stable internet connectivity.

Now, after several attempts, my handset is in DFU mode which is unable to start as normal. I am just being patient and not going to update to 10.2.1. Meanwhile, am helpless to use my ancient nokia C3.

10.2 is no longer being signed by Apple. It looks as if you're trying to use a very old technique on a newer firmware. We haven't modified the hosts file in years.

Why didn't you just stay on 10.1.1 and jailbreak that?

Ok... So, I need to download 10.1.1 ipsx manually and then shift+restore using iTunes. Then, perform Pangu Jailbreak.are you sure 10.1.1 jailbreak support 5s too ?

Oh Oh.... My bad !!!

Will have to wait for the next jailbreak then. Am really sorry but can you please tell me what do we need to save shsh blobs for ? And any useful link which will give me a step-by-step instructions ?

So, assuming If I ever have had the blobs, then how would that helped me even after 10.2 / 10.1.1 has stopped signing ?

Just read the article. What is the difference between Cydia Eraser and Cydia Impactor ? I believe, previously cydia impactor was used to remove jailbreak environment and get bck to stock iOS... right ?

Correct, but now Cydia Eraser does that job and Impactor is now used for sideloading certain apps and jailbreak files.

Its fun to know new stuff but its my bad that I aint on desired firmware. May be next time, and hopefully there will be support for 5s.

I guess, there would be a support since its 64 bit. BUT just in case, ios 11 is not compatible with 5s, then again my bad

Best way, is to upgrade !!!

Aside from my 7 Plus, I have a 5s jailbroken on iOS 9.3.3.
