Sorry if this doesn't belong here...
Since the latest updates I can't figure out how to stop notifications in Facebook. Before you were able to go to setting then notifications and choose which ones you wanted to stop.

    Anyone know how??

Are the notifications alerts or are they messages?

If you only see notifications when you open the Facebook app it's safe to say you need to change your notification settings within Facebook itself. You can disable any and all notifications from iOS, however once you open the app you'll see anything 'new' - check Facebook and disable what you need too.

I understand that but I don't know how to stop getting a notification for a post. You use to be able to easily not that have changed it.

Notifications for comment responses etc? You can ignore a status that you commented on etc, then you won't get notifications.

It's changed apparently. Rather than set the Notifications how you want in the Facebook settings, you have to wait until you get a notification on a post, then you can opt out of receiving more notifications from that specific post. It's ridiculous! It makes me not want to participate in anything. I can't stand Facebook. I only keep it to keep up with my grandkids. So now everytime someone blows their nose, we're forced to hear about it. Have you noticed how they slip in a "Do you know John Q. modern?" in the Notifications? I have 3 Facebook accounts. They asked me if I knew myself. More and more people are closing their Facebook accounts. Unfortunately, I have family who live there. They've been sucked in. I take a quick look maybe twice a day. I never see the pages I once enjoyed. Facebook ruined that. They've ruined a lot if it.

I know the feeling. If someone comments on a three week old post that post then shows up as a recent post in my "Most Recent" category. I want to see posts in chronological order based on when the post was originally put up not because of some new comment to an old post. And don't get me started on the &$?!#% advertising and posted ads. Banner ads I get but Facebook generated ads made to look like legitimate posts, that's just dishonest. Grrrrrrr.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!

Yep! and every new Facebook update has the same update explanation. They never say what's been changed. We find out the hard way. This is what every update says:

@missygal I've discovered you can opt out of certain notifications from your Timeline. You don't have to go to Settings each time. Here's how. Tap the Notifications globe at the bottom. Then tap on a notification post. Then tap the tiny faint gray thingy in the upper right corner.

    Then tap "Stop Notifications".
