Ok so im going to get a new contract since i was prepaid with my old v1 iPhone

Im going to get the 3g iPhone and my wife is going to get a razr or something..

So all together my monthly bill should be about - taxes Correct?

69.99 (2 family plan 700mins) + 30.00 (One iPhone Data Plan) + 5.00 (200 txts)
= 105 Dollars a month?

Sounds about right. Of course, it will be more like $120 after taxes and fees.

Are you eligible for the $200 price having been prepaid with V1?

Well just to give you an idea, here's my breakdown with 2 V1 iPhones:

We don't do family talk. I have the 500 minute plan and we add Jen's line.

My phone $45v/$20d = $65
Jen's additional line $15v/$20d - $35

So our bill is a clean Benjamin. But it always comes to $116ish. So there ya go.

Seems like every time we priced family talk, it costs more (even though we get more minutes... than we could ever possibly use. Our rollovers are insance)

Well I don't know if they still offer my plan or not... But I only do it because even 500 mins is too much for our usage (everyone we call is on AT&T) and 700 mins is the lowest family talk plan. I only save about 5-10 bucks going the add-a-line route... I think. This stuff always confuses the crap out of me.

You have to price it out for your sitch... I only get "upgrade" pricing info from the AT&T website.

only 2 people though

Sort of. I do have 3 phones, but the 3rd is my old man's phone and its only 9.99 extra and he has data and text blocked.

the brunt of my bill is the 1400 minute nation wide plan with two 30 dollar current iPhone datat plans with the 1500 text messages. Its, after taxes..... 182 bucks

Having 2 iPhones on a family plan is probably one of the least optimal shared plans. I have an iPhone and want to give it to my son who is coming over from Verizon when I get the iPhone 3G.

So my plan goes from:

Nation 450 $40 + iPhone Data $20 = $60

To:

Family 700 $70 + iPhone Data $20 + iPhone 3G Data $30 = $120

Add 200 txt for $5 = $125
Or Unlimited Family txt for $30 = $150

The minutes are a wash. I gain unlimited night/weekend and can share minutes but only gain 250 minutes with higher per-minute costs.

So going from $60 to $125/150 does not seem like a great family plan option. Wish there was some type of family plan for data since its the data and texting that will kill me. Now I'm not so sure we can swing this.

You're in the exact same boat as me. The only thing that helps is you can drop your son's old text messaging plan if he had one. For me, I will only be increasing $30 because I was already paying an additional $5 for my son's text message starter package. He won't need that with the $20 iPhone data plan.
