Wow maybe I just don't understand but I don't think that I can do the 3G iPhone if it is going to be this high. Currently I have a Family Plan of 700 minutes at 69.99 and the iPhone data plan added at $20 bucks this equals 89.99. If I'm reading the 3G Family Plan correctly it will now be 129.00? I have no other choice. I was hoping I could just pick a 3g data plan of $30 bucks and be done. I figure the new plan would cost me $10 bucks more not $40.

I hope I'm wrong! :(

No - it seems you have it down. I am in the same bucket as you. This does suck, and I'm reconsidering the 3G now.

The FamilyTalk plan is definitely cheaper. I'm getting with some friend and we're gonna split a family plan so it will be cheaper for all of this. Here are some charts I worked out to help show how it is cheaper.

Will you qualify for a family plan? You have to show residency, and name... *i think*.

I still don't see the NEW 3G Family plan being cheaper? My current plan is 89.99 before taxes and other stuff. It will cost me $40 more any way I look at it?

What if you already have a plan with 1 iPhone and wanted to add 1 3G iPhone? Can't I keep my grandfathered plan?

That is nearly my dilemma. We have 2 iPhones, only 1 is getting upgraded, what the hell does that do to my plan?

Easy, one will pay $20 for data, the other $30.
That's what I was hoping. I have been with Cingular/ATT for a while and have the old 1100 minute Nation Plan for $59 + $10 additional line with rollover minutes. You can't touch that plan with the current offerings. Also, I have over 5000 minutes that I've accumulated.

Should I call customer service or just show up on the 11th?

Just got back from the Att store and they said it would just be $10 more a month for the 3G data plan. That advertised plan is just an example package of two iPhones on one Family Plans. Basically it is what we have thought for weeks that the 3G Data plan is $30 added to you existing plan just like the old $20 iPhone data plan we have now.

WooHoo:eek: now I can breath!

Ok so if I'm just one of the additional 9.99 a month customers on a family plan I just add the 30 dollar data plan correct? I have the family text so I don't have to worry about that...
Correct i believe it will now be 39.99 but im not sure if the iPhone 3g will let you use the family text plan

Here's what I found for me. 1 version 1, 1 3g phone on a family plan.

Minutes - $70
Data for V1 - $20
Data for V2 - $45 (enterprise, so I can get my email)
Unlimited Texting for all phones (v1 and v2) - $30

So that grand totals to $165/month without tax. Confirmed 3 times and 3 different stores.
