Finally used original iPhone credit... for 3GS

Well after nearly two years I finally used that gift card credit that Apple gave to us early adopters ($100.00).

So that made my 3GS only a hundred bucks. Felt good to finally use that certificate, albeit late. ;)

As I don't live in a 3G area the iPhone 3G was just not enough for me to upgrade. But the 3GS was enough, so I bit.

Plus two years is about the longest I've ever lived with a cell phone. But, amazingly, my G1 iPhone has never once felt "old." yes, perhaps the battery life ain't as it once was (about 85% though). With all of the updates, and in particular the 3.0 update, the G1 has always seemed "current." (That said I did kind of "hide" it in a case, so it didn't quite scream, "FIRST GENERATION!" And I may have danced around the question, "is that the new one?" lol).

BTW: Though I haven't been active here lately, it's good to see many of the original iPhone supporters are still around!

Long time, no see! :) It's good to have you back.

I can't believe you never used that credit until now. I spent mine within a month or two after I got it.

Welcome back, and grats on the 3gs.

I was always proud to tell people my iPhone was an original. Right up until I sold it last week.

Great to see you back Mike. Glad to hear you grabbed the 3GS at a sweet price.

My V1 is happily chugging away - my daughter now uses it full time, as a Touch (sans phone service) ...

Wow, I wish I would have saved my credit. I used it as a Christmas gift that same year.
Nice to see you back.

I'm way too impulsive to be smart and save the credit that long. I bought a printer with it (pretty decent) which I still use. I think I bought it about 4 days after I got the credit.

Welcome back, Mike - good to see you again. I'm with the group that spent their credit shortly after they got it - I think I used mine on a case for my V1.

Congrats on the new toy - stick around this time? ;)

When early adopters first bought the iPhone it cost either $499 or $599. Shortly thereafter Apple dropped the price by 100 so everyone got a 100 Apple credit.

I used mine way to fast. I wish I would have held on to it until I got my 3G.

Actually, O2 credited people's account by £100, which was used in my bills :(

I bought the iPhone in April, less than 24 hours before the price dropped.

Sorry I guess I was short sighted and only commented from where I live in the U.S. I wish they would have credited my bill but Apple got more money from me in the end.
