In the Apple announcement, Jobs made it known that the update was a FREE update. So now we will have to pay for updates? Come on...

Haha I was thinking the exact same thing. He's making it seem as if the updates are actually worth it. 2 "updates" later and I'm still searching for what was really updated.

He was simply clarifying that updates are free...not that we would (may) have to pay for future updates past the one coming next.

He said this will be a FREE update, it could go either way, I thought it would be funny if we had to buy an update to again buy ringtones and songs from it. So end up paying 3 times? Haha. No thanks, I have been doing the free ringtone thing, and ill continue.

Apple has never charged for any type of software update.

They have NEVER lowered the price of one of their products before even two months of release.
