I have a friend who is interested in buying my iPhone. I plan to upgrade. Before I sell it, how do I wipe my iPhone? I want to be sure all of my information has been completely removed.

When you say remove the sim,is that after I erase my phone?
Then I put it back in when I restore to factory settings?
It is a iPhone 4....

You can remove the sim at anytime. Just don't keep it in there when you sell it.

You can restore to factory settings using iTunes, and then remove the SIM card. The sim slot should be on the left side of the iPhone 4. As the Internet says, since they didn't give us iPhone 4 users a sim removal tool, you can use a paper clip edge and put It in the hole and it'll pop out. Remove sim and then put the tray back in

I always thought that when you erase the phone and settings you erase the SIM card to!

The SIM card can very well still have your information on it, which is why you need to remove it before selling it. They will get a new SIM card from their carrier. :)
