I may be ordering an iMac soon, and I was wondering if getting the 24" for personal everyday use is overkill. It would be nice to save the $300 and just get the 20". Who here has a 20", and do you think its big enough?

Go for the 24" if you can afford it. You'll appreciate the extra space. It's all relative. It'll seem very big at first, but then you'll wonder how you ever used a smaller monitor.

Guys this is a dead thread from over 2 years ago. Apple if you intended to reopen it you should have clarified 2 items for new readers. 1. $1694 for a 24 inch iMac is ridiculous as they were selling for $1399 3 months ago. 2. The 24 inch has been replaced by the 27 inch so if you can get the 24 Inch you should get a clearance price to go with it.

I agree. I don't have a 24" iMac, but I have an Acer 23" widescreen monitor with my recently-purchased Mac Mini, and you'll really appreciate the extra screen real estate.

It's great for a laugh. Somehow I was answering a thread a couple months ago that had such an obvious answer that none of the 10 or so posters had offered that I was like, " hey morons"; man I'm glad I finally noticed it was a couple years old and deleted my post!;)

I don't understand you are going to pay 1600 for a 24" model? Can't you get a brand new new new! 27" model for around the same price ?
