i have a 4s from ebay that was bought to be used as a mp3 player and gamer unit for my daughter. It was a Verizon phone and I have no idea if it is unlocked, etc. she isn't going to use it as a phone.

it does have an incredible amount of music on it so I am wondering if I could transfer it into my computer before resetting it. I have no knowledge of former owner or why they did not delete everything. But something like 400 albums of what I would consider awesome music.

I do not have iTunes installed on any computer.

DeTune worked to perfection for me in transferring 368 songs from my iPhone 5 to my laptop. It transfers it to a folder that you make on your laptop or computer. You can then drag that folder into the music section of iTunes and it will copy all of the music in that folder into your iTunes music section.
