Gmail will Reicieve, won't send

first, i use an @businesss.com for gmail not @gmail.com

I followed the set up on google for setting up this kind of account. I can receive all my mail, but when i send it says "unable to connect to smtp.gmail.com"

Anyone know how i can fix?

Are you connected using Edge or WiFi? If I am using my WiFi at home with a cable connection I cannot send using smtp's for other email providers. Likewise, when on Edge and want to send through my cable email account I have to use the cwmx.com one to send since I am not authenticated through my home internet provider. Perhaps this is the cause in your situation?

Are you using POP or IMAP? If using POP, why not use IMAP? You don't have to be worried whether you are on Wi-fi or Edge.

Did you make sure to set up that the SMTP server requires authorization? Most (including GMail) require you to authenticate to prevent spammers from using them as an open relay.
