Is there still a strong market for a 2g in Mint shape. My local Apple store has all phones in stock and based on the BGR report stating it could be until August to get phone i would like to sell my 2g if I could get like 400.00 ( I am eligible for a full discount from ATT on my current 2g) for it.

Is this reasonable?

I have read on various sites that the demand for the gen 1 iPhone is still going strong, but $400 seems a little high though. Poke around on ebay, craigslidt etc. and you will see.

SO, I shouldn't have any problems selling my 2g with a little effort?

yeah, 16GB are going for $400+. Depends on the condition, the quality of your auction (good pictures, etc) and where you're willing to ship to.

I think it's a good time. I wanted to do it now in case they came up with a way to unlock 3g in the near future. Right now this is why people are after v1. Check out ebay and craigslist.org on the going prices. My advice is you do a little research on how people are wording their auctions. If you use words like easily jailbroken or unlockable it will sell.

I was thinking that, too, but then there is the premium on the cost of an out of network 3G, so I think the price will hold steady. All the same, my V1 is on eBay.

I went to the AT&T store and ordered an 8gb 3g this morning. I was hoping to get it in time to sell my V1 unlocked on ebay, but since the wait is 10-20 days, I don't know if that will happen.

I just sold my original 8gig on eBay today for $350. There is a market for sure. I answered about 10 questions in 2 days about it, and had over 25 people on the phone's "watch list". 300+ views of the page in 2 days also.

You just gotta put in good keywords in your header so people actually looking for the phone and not accessories won't lose your item in the myriad of iPhone products/accessories on eBay.
