Easy thread. What's the price for the iPad mini? Assuming there are multiple models, what are you saying is the lowest price you'll be able to pay to score an iPad mini.

My guess: $299.

It'll be WiFi only with 16GB of storage, available in white/silver or black/slate.

Lowest for what GB ?
It's say no lower then 16 GB?
$289 or $279 would be nice
probably $299
That's part of the puzzle and you have to add that to your equation when coming up with the price. I personally don't think they'd outfit an iPad mini with less than 16GB, so that's why I'm skewing higher. I've seen some people think it'll go higher. Curious as to where people think it will fall.

$299 for 16gig (base model). Multiple colors like new iPods. Wifi only. Retina display. Front and rear cameras.

iOS 6.1 will be announced at event as well (here's hoping).

What do we get if we win?

I hope that the rumors are correct first of all! Probably are as most all media outlets are reporting one coming out. And I can only hope that there is an LTE version of the iPad Air like in the full size iPad versions. I am hoping for:

iPad Air or Mini

16 gb wifi only $299.00

16 gb LTE $399.00 or maybe $429.00

If they launch an LTE version for one of those prices I am all over it. Apple launching LTE versions will separate them from the competition even more. And of course the other sizes in prices like the other iPads. I am hoping for an LTE version, but they might not do it because of the LTE regular iPads. Or it would be in a future years model. Apple doesn't like giving us all the candy at once :)

But I can hope.

It seems unlikely to me that it will be cheaper than an iPod Touch which starts at $299. The full size iPad starts at $499 so I'm going to split the difference and guess $399 for 16GB wifi only. Wait, scratch that, make it $359.

But the smallest new iPod Touch is 32 GB. I still think they are going to sell an 8 GB WiFi iPad Mini for $249. I think they realize that low price is important so they can compete with the cheaper Android tablets.

Good point. Maybe they'll also forgo a camera to appeal to those who want more of an ebook reader without the bulk of a full featured iPad. You know, a Kindle Fire Killer. :D
