Help with Apple ID

So I tried to facetime on my ipad and i realized it kept failing to make calls but with my iPhone it worked. I tried to reenter my Apple ID on my iPad and noticed it would not verify it, itwould not let me log in so I changed my password because it kept saying wrong password. I entered my new password but still in iMessage, facetime, it won't verify my log in, it just auto directs the screen back to the enter Apple ID screen without verifying but when I try to download apps in the app store it works.

What's going on?!

From my recent experience, this is due to the fact that you logged in on iCloud using the free @me.com email account that came with it.

Say your Apple ID is jAppleseed@gmail.com and your iCloud email is jAppleseed@me.com.

What I did was go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > iCloud > Delete Account
I then logged in to iCloud using the Apple ID, say jAppleseed@gmail.com, and it fixed it for me.
