Hello everyone! Well I got my license a couple months ago and I am now looking for an accessory for my iPhone. I basically want to be able to play music through the car speakers (it's an 01 Jeep grand cherokee) and also charge the iPhone. Having a 'hands free' kit isn't all that important to me, neither is having a true mount. So my question is basically what are my options for somehwhere around $30-40? I'm looking for decent sound quality, with the ability to use the phone while it is plugged in.

Thanks a lot!

Does your car stereo have an AUX input? Or a cassette player? If it has either one of these, I would go with either a Belkin Auto Kit, or the Griffin AutoPilot. Both of these have a "line out" that you can connect to an AUX port, or plug in a cassette adapter to, and use the audio out from the dock instead of the headphone port, for superior sound.

As far a mount, I highly suggest the Car Floor / Seat Bolt Mount and Cradle for Apple iPhone & Touch.

Okay so I have a cassette player, but no AUX, which is fine. So I'm just finding a combination of products that will work together to get the music and charging abilities. First the Belkin Cassette adapter, or any cassette adapter for that matter really, and the Belkin audio kit. Just to double check, as I want a good price, are these the correct products?

Also, is the tape player durable? Like it's going to last awhile, not like I'm gonna need to replace it every month or anything? Thanks!

Yes, those are both exactly what you need! The cassette adapter should last you as long as you own it. I've never had one go bad on me. Anything is possible I suppose, but I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Also, keep in mind, when you plug in the Belkin Auto Kit into the phone, a message will pop up on the phone saying "This device is not made for the iPhone. Do you want to enter Airplane Mode?" or something like that. Just hit "NO" and everything works fine.

I was looking for a car dock for my iPhone today.I want one that will charge my iPhone, also I want an "line out" feature for the aux. input on my Alpine car stereo.
The guy in the store told me if I buy such a product,he said that my phone feature would be disabled,(it would essentially become just an iPod). Is this a true statement?

This is not true. I am using the Griffin Tuneflex (it has a cradle, charges, and has line-out for aux). I am using the car's hands-free bluetooth, so when i receive a call, the volume lowers and the phone rings. If you don't have bluetooth, the phone will still ring, but I don't know if the volume will lower.
