It doesn't look like this has been discussed in a couple years, especially my question so here goes:

I've got the iPad Pro and love it. It is a laptop replacement for me. I have the WiFi/LTE version and I'm wondering if a VPN such as Hotspot Shield will truly make my connection more secure when I'm away from home on either a public Wife or on my iPad's LTE signal when WiFi is not available?

I know most all websites that I pay bills on have their own security and hopefully eBay, Amazon, and PayPal are secure too but I just want to know if paying $29.99 a year for this app is really going to make my web surfing more secure or not.

Thanks as usual!

Hey, Mickey. Sorry for the late reply. I didn't see it until your thread just got bumped.

Yes, using a VPN on public WiFi will secure your connection. But keep in mind that many of them, especially the free ones, leak users' details. Make sure the one you use has an option for stopping IPv6 leaks. I highly recommend PIA. Their customer support is exceptional and they have had IPv6 protection baked in for the last few years.

Also, stay away from those public wifes. They're nothing but trouble. ;)
