How do add widgets on iPhone?

How does widgets work? can I go to Apple and download a new widget for my iPhone? or do I have to wait for Apple to come out with a new widget, like they did with youtube? I wouldn't mind a fandango widget, or just something that would give me up to date movie times.

At present, you can't add any apps or widgets (or ringtones for that matter) to the iPhone. Apple is strictly controlling what goes into the iPhone.

I like how the weather widget is set up, I wouldn't mind something like that for the movies.
