I'm trying to sync data from my old 3GS with my 4. The 3GS is 32g the 4 is 16, so I don't need all the apps necessarily but I do want notes photos and texts.

Aside from restoring my 4, is there a simpler way? I don't want to interfere with the JB or UL, which would be the case if I restore.

What I've tried is, backing up the 3GS as well as the 4, giving both phones the same name in iTunes and then trying to "restore from backup" the 4...didn't work. In trying to do this, I didn't even see the 3GS backup. It's there, but only accessible when the 3GS is plugged in. Is what I'm attempting possible?

I've synced new phones on iTunes with my old ones, but it never has synced any JB apps or cydia.
And restoring a phone via iTunes will
Unjailbreak, but I guess there's a clever kid out there that can do it
Google time I think

I think the reason this isn't working is because the data in your 3GS is associated with the same version as your iPhone 3GS. when you try to get this backup from your iPhone 4, it shows a different version that's why it won't. Are they the same version? Maybe if they were it would work.good luck
