So, I'm not a super tech savvy guy, but I've always tried to get a general idea of how previous jailbreaks have worked, whether it was the PDF rendering bug in jailbreakme, or the ever important bootrom level limera1n exploit.

With the release of evasi0n though, the evad3rs have totally stepped up the game. This is seriously impressive stuff, kids.

Here's an article that dissects the jailbreak in technical terms:

    http://blog.accuvantlabs.com/blog/bthomas/evasi0n-jailbreaks-userland-component

And in this article @planetbeing breaks it down in laymen's terms (kinda):

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/andygreenberg/2013/02/05/inside-evasi0n-the-most-elaborate-jailbreak-to-ever-hack-your-iphone/

Crazy stuff, right? Anyone else find this fascinating?

Kadelic actually posted the Forbes article the other day. Pretty good stuff.

This was probably the easiest one next to jailbreakme.com.

I remember jailbreaking my first iPhone gen 1.

That took a while. Almost every step was manual and had to be performed step by step. It took a while and maybe a few times.

I remember that if you screwed it up halfway through...back to the drawing board!

I find it both fascinating and mind-numbingly brilliant! I wish I could spend a few hours with members of the team sometime. I doubt I'd be able to ask any meaningful questions but I'd certainly try.

Yeah you guys are right, the 6.1 jailbreak is the easiest jailbreak I've done. It just took me 10 minutes to do it.
