54 for me. I had trouble thinking of stuff to type before i needed to type it. If I actually had something cohesive to say, I think I'd be faster.

got 57 WPM in portrait mode while typing with both thumbs.
I used the same orientation and technique and got 37 WPM. So I wouldn't have to think of something to say, I typed "mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy. A kid will eat ivy too, wouldn't you?" I can type a lot faster on the iPhone than I can on my Mac, is that true for y'all as well?

You guys are amazing. I got 41.7 words at a rate of 47WPM, portrait with just the thumb via Swype.

Typing a standard gives you a reference to compare against.

I think I typed exactly what Europa did but haven't the same word count?

16.2 words, 65WPM, portrait, one finger, Swype.

Can see how having to traverse the entire distance between letters is slower than the time to tap two letters using two thumbs but that the speed is gained through ease of flow with maybe not as much focus.

Hope you guys get Swype from Nuance soon. Hope I don't lose it.

The test isn't all that good if I use a keyboard to quick pick word suggestions, composing nonsensical sentences. Even worse if I just copy and paste into the field.

38.6 words, 86WPM randomly picking word suggestions from SwiftKey keyboard app.

At least Europa's sentence choice is a good standard since you can read from it as you type.
