I lost my iPhone today. The feeling when I realised it was gone was horrendous!

Anyway, it has been found and the finder has kindly offered to drive 20 miles to meet me and return it.

He hasn't asked for a reward and I feel like giving him something for his trouble.

So the question is, how much is appropriate?

How much is your iPhone worth to you?

An act of kindness like that is hard to find nowadays.

If it happened to me, I'd probably give the person $50 to $100 bucks.

Or offer to give them a discount on a car or bike(I own a car dealership in D.C.)

I'd do $50 as well, at the very least it's a full tank of gas for the trouble.

Damn that's nice that the person is returning it to you, most people would have kept it. I would give the person $100 for returning it.

I would give them at least $50 considering they are driving to meet you and the gas prices are as high as they are today. I would most likely give them $100. But, if you think less is all it requires, by all means don't let others influence you in monetary decisions.

$50-100 is very responsible. To this guy its just a phone and hes already got one. He will have the satisfaction of helping someone out, and making a little cash as a reward.

Don't get me started on gas prices. I'm in the UK and we pay £1.10 per litre!

Which is why your public transport is so much better than here in the US.

I would have to agree that $50-$100 is a very generous and reasonable amount. You should fel very lucky that they are even gong to bring it back. Not gonna lie, if i found an iPhone i might be very tempted to sell it

That's a joke, right?
Not really, when ever I visit england (actually going again 21st-29th) to see my relatives we use public transport. I find it much better than the US. Also found Paris to have an amazing subway system.

Gah, I HATE the Metro system in Paris. After using the Tube in London for so long the Metro just seems so antiquated. Maybe it's just me.

That's where the average is probably going to work out anyway (half are for $50, half are for $100) :p

Depends on what it's worth to you - you would have to choke up a lot more than $50 if you had to get a new phone. I say at least $100.
