That's just amazing that the iPhone computes all that info in a nano second.

Yeah, that article's been around for years... and they still haven't figured out how the touchscreen works.

They've always had the indecisive line, "The iPhone's screen detects touch through one of two methods: Mutual capacitance or self capacitance."

Dozens of naive iPhone bloggers copied the article. Some, with less reading skills than others, even changed the wording to make it sound like both methods were in use.

Btw, the answer is: self capacitance screens are only good for detecting single or double touches. So guess which one isn't used. :)
