Here are directions for changing your carrier logo without jailbreaking. The entire process only takes a couple minutes. You can reboot to switch from one to another after you apply a new one or you can just open Newsstand to respring (if you keep Newsstand in a folder with the StifleStand method).

Is this safe to do or will it affect the security of the phone in anyway? I'm keen to try it but unsure about the consequences. I have my work e mails through my phone and they can be very confidential. Please help answer this question for me!

It doesn't compromise security in any way.

StifleStand is safe as well. Neither of these methods jailbreak the phone or make it vulnerable. The OS and data is still just as secure with both of them installed.

You don't have to hide Newsstand to change the carrier logo - it's just a handy way to respring a stock phone, which is faster than rebooting.

Awesome, Thanks Europa! I didn't even have to respring on my 4S, it was immediate.

You're welcome. :)

The first time I changed it, it was immediate for me as well. However, any subsequent changes I made, including switching back to the stock logo, required a respring.

I'm struggling with it in uk. My carrier is EE, formerly Orange but it is not listed in the drop down box
Not at carriers are supported in the program. ValleyForge can make you a custom IPCC file for you.
