iPhone n00bie here. One of the reasons that always kept me from buying an iPhone was the difficulty in copying songs from your computer to your iPhone.

I was never able to do it

Can you please give me a step by step guide on how to copy the songs from my computer to my iPhone?

Additionally, let's say I delete a phone from my iPhone, how can I have them synchronized in such a way that the same song would be deleted from my PC collection and vice versa?

I want them to always remain in sync

I am newbie too. But here goes..
    Launch iTunes
Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable or maybe wireless.
See iPhone in side bar. Click it.
Click music. See all your tracks.
    Check the target tracks.
    Sync. Good luck.

You can drag them into iTunes or you can add them to your library (see screenshot below). Then sync your phone in iTunes and the music will be added to it. You can uncheck the boxes next to the songs in iTunes if you don't want them to sync to your phone.
