Apple doesn't allow firmware downgrading.

I'm sure there is an app with that filter. It's possible that 8.0.1 will bring the camera roll back. There are a lot of people who are disappointed that it's gone.

I'm still on iOS 7. Is this the filter you are referring to?

yeah, it's the same filter!
As of an hour ago, the signing window for 7.1.2 was still open. Hurry and downgrade if you want to. They might keep it open for a few days, but it could close any time. You'll need to download 7.1.2 first and then press the shift key (option key on Mac) and the the restore button. Then you can browse for the firmware you downloaded and restore. You won't be able to use your 8.0 backup.

I'm sure you can get that filter in an app if you don't want to downgrade.

I live in Utah, but I'm just a couple hours from Vegas. I go there quite a bit. I waited in line at the Town Square Apple Store for my 5s last year. @Napoleon PhoneApart and I went to the Hard Rock for lunch yesterday.
