I tried to reformat my iPhone 4 back to factory ios 5.0.1 but I STILL have 3.5 gig of OTHER in yellow when I sync in iTunes. any idea what it is?

Thanks,

Shane

Not sure. When you say 'factory' did you actually restore as new, then again from backup?

Yes, but isn't 3.5GB an anomaly? My 4S-jb 'Other' is 1.41GB which is substantially higher than it was pre jb.

It hasn't always been here. I did a RESTORE back to factory 5.0.1 and then a restore from my backup but I have the 3.5 other again.

Don't recall making changes to cloud, no. I got a few new apps, try deleting those? shouldn't they be taking space in apps and not other?

thanks. why wouldn't doing a restore back to iTunes factory 5.0.1 delete it? maybe it does, but my restore has the 3.5gig somewhere in it.

strange audio is 6gig, photos 12, apps, 1 and OTHER is 3.9 now.

Maybe it's the OS. Seems like a bit more than usual but it takes up part of the capacity.
