How to remove one single unwanted button from the Safari toolbar?

I want to get rid of one button on my Safari toolbar:

The pane above is what I see after selecting "Customize Toolbar..."

If I try to click and drag out the "Send to Kindle" button, the whole toolbar starts to move (not just the one button.)

If I right-click on that button, then I get one option: "Use Default Set." I don't want to do that, because I don't want the other buttons to go away. I simply want the "Send to Kindle" button to go away.

How do I accomplish this? And why isn't it straightforward, as things on OS X usually are?
