    Hello all,
I would like to know how do i send files or apps or songs or videos using airdrop on ios 7 ? Is it only possible with people using ios 7 or is it possible to transfer data who has ios 6 too ? Also, is it restricted only to ios users or it can be transferred to Android users too ?

They have to be on iOS 7 to use AirDrop. Both users should have AirDrop enabled. You can do this by swiping up to reveal Control Center and clicking on the AirDrop icon. Once you do, you'll have an option for Only Contacts or All.

Tap on AirDrop and the image of the contact will appear, if in the same WiFi network. That's pretty much it.

I go into more detail on how to use AirDrop in my iOS 7 review & guide.

    Hope this helps.

I should note that you cannot send or share apps via AirDrop. It's only for files, photos, etc.

AirDrop works on the iPhone 5, 5c and 5s, the iPad mini and iPad 4, and the fifth generation iPod Touch.

Many thanks to u all... But am pretty disappointed with the fact that airdrop can only be used for 5 and above. I have ip5 but there are many files which i need to transfer to my ipad2. They could have published a final upgrade for ios 6 where you can atleast receive files sent from airdrop via bluetooth or wifi.

You can transfer them with DropBox.
