Hi all,

I have a ancient Iphone 4, and some apps don't want to be installed on this model, although they work on Iphone 4s.

I was wondering if there is a way to make the phone believe it is an Iphone 4s, I imagine it must be a certificate to modify, could it be done via Cydia?

In the case it is possible, would it be a good idea, or is there some risks?

I have never heard of such a thing, although almost anything is possible. :p

In any case, at the moment the iPhone is only jailbreakable up to 8.1.2.

You have full file system privileges when you jailbreak and can often modify files to allow running apps or enable features that are intended for/restricted to other devices or firmware. One example of this is enabling Siri on an iPhone 4.

It's an iPhone 4. It was cut off at 7.1.2. It's jailbreakable.

You learn something new every day. I guess then I am glad to continue to get new iPhones, to get updates etc etc. :)

My iPhone was jailbreaked already, but I don't dare to modify some random files inside it. ^^
