I used mine on Leopard.

Also, the only V2 that we've heard of right now is software, not a phone - the new phone hasn't been announced.

yes, there's been a lot of speculation of a new model this summer (maybe June along side the SDK release?) with 3G and GPS capabilities but, as you mentioned, we have nothing concrete yet.

We bought 2 phones at the time. We took the $200 credit and bought a ipod which we sold on ebay. Came out with about $190 after fees. Not too shabby.

That's similar to what happened to me when I got my macbook. I got a free 4 gig nano (after rebate) which I sold on ebay and made at least 150 (I don't remember exactly how much) which I used towards the purchase of my ipod touch. Which is currently listed on ebay as well after the recent purchase of my 16 gig iPhone :)

I used it towards a Jawbone Bluetooth headset. ended up only paying like $29 out of pocket if I remember correctly. Not bad for IMO one of the best if not the best bluetooth headset on the market.

Dittos on the Jawbone.

I'll use mine toward the 3G phone when it arrives.

This was when the iPhone first came out. They sold for $599 and a few weeks later the price dropped to $399. There was such an outcry that Apple issued a $100 credit to be used at stores or in iTunes.

If I would have bought mine before the price drop, I probably would have spent it as soon as I got it.

On what, I don't know. Depends on when I would have bought the phone, I guess...if I bought it before the 2 week cutoff and only got $100, I probably would have spent it on a couple of accessories or something...but if it was the full $200 difference, I probably would have gone ahead and bought a Mac. Even though I couldn't have possibly afforded the phone before the price cut, it's nice to dream about what I woulda got.
