I think you might have read about the new pricing. I don't recall writing and/or hearing about doubling of free storage.

The new prices are a welcome change.

I thought iCloud was being increased to 10GB in iOS 8? Or with the new iPhone? I have both and still at 5GB. I thought I read a post from @chris regarding this.

Thanks for your response. Can you provide me with the link to that article/post you made?

But OneDrive is Windows based, which is out for me.
OneDrive is not just for Windows. I have the OneDrive app on my iPhone and also store files on it from my iMac. And you can store many types of files on it, including .dmg image files.

It gives you the option of creating secure folders or shared folders, for collaboration. And you can create and send links to files in shared folders to direct others to them.

Apparently ICloud Drive will offer many of the same features when it's fully implemented.

Last week, I upgraded to the 20GB storage for $.99/month. Early this morning, Apple sent me an email that they upgraded my 20GB plan to 50GB for no extra charge.

Yep. They announced their new iCloud storage pricing during the iPhone Keynote and rolled it out this past week.
