Help someone... I've been an ATT customer since the beginning of August, and now after I restored and updated, it says Invalid SIM- Insert an unlocked and valid SIM to activate iPhone. And when I connect to iTunes it says, "The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be a supported SIM Card." Anyone know what I can do?

Is your phone unlocked? Do you have mods on it?

don't tell them you put 3rd party software on it.. just tell them you did a restore and it's now saying incorrect SIM.. just call ATT and tell them that and they should give you a new SIM for free if you tell them its just teling you that out of nowhere without modding the software ;-) 1 person said he got back from getting the new sim card tho and it didn't work, so i haven't picked mine up yet. :-I

I have a question for you guys with NOT unlocked phones: did you ever, at any point, get a new phone, but kept using the original SIM card? I ask because i read on another forum that some guy had the same SIM error message (his phone was not unlocked). He seems to think the reason is because he had gotten a replacement phone, but was using the SIM card from his old phone. Just trying to narrow down what could have caused this... Thanks.

I'm gonna go tomorrow to an AT&T store and just plead guilty to unlocking the iPhone. Im gonna explain to them that I did unlock it but did not use it on another network. They can check my usuage with AT&T and verify that I have used the iPHone on their network. Maybe one of the people there will let me exchange my "bricked" iPhone.

I'm here at the Apple store now. They told me I was "crap out of luck". I have spent 3 hours on the phone with Apple and they are gonna call me back when they come up with something. They won't do anything no matter what you tell them. They are standing strong. I asked one more time if they would help me and they said no. So I fine give me another iPhone. You should have seen the face the guy made. :)
