Interesting pre-order situation

    Like a lot of us I was up at 3:00am est to secure my new iPhone 4s. All went well and ATT conformation says I should see it nest Friday. Now here is the interesting part. I received a call this morning from my credit card company saying they noticed "suspicious" activity and have suspended use of my card until I call and verify usage. As it turn out the CS rep at the credit card company explained that because I used my card at 3:00am it was deemed suspicious. I told her why and she replied that her shift started at 7:00am est and she already received 40 calls from people saying the same thing. Did anyone get any sleep last night? LOL.
    I just wanted to give everyone a heads up as this may happen to a lot of us Apple Addicts.

    I got through to an AT&T guy at about 2:30 and he got mine and my bf's ordered. I haven't received a confirmation email. He did give me the order number and some other stuff but it just worries me that I haven't gotten a confirmation email. Did everyone not get one? Do we just get it when they ship?

    I haven't received a confirmation email yet, either. I'm not worried about it. They're swamped right now. You'll probably receive it at some point later on today.

    Got mine from ATT on line at 4:00am est. I got an email conformation saying delivery would be on or before October 14th.

    I helped my sister reserve her 4S last night about 2 hours after pre-orders started. I was able to get through on the Apple website and it says we reserved an iPhone 4S. Apple would send her something later for billing. So, at least Apple is not accepting payments just yet.

    i went through the sprint web site. they finally reopened it about 1:40 and it was easy. setup a new account, got 2 new phones and now i just wait til the 14th

    To the OP. Thanks for the heads up. That sounds weird but at least the CC Co. is looking out for you. I used a debt card so I'm sure I won't get any calls.

    I ordered through AT&T at 4:43am after numerous failed attempts at orderig through Apple.com and at 4:46am AT&T sent me a confirmation email, telling me I would receive my order on 10/14. YAY!

    I think because we are all early in the game, we should all get ours on Launch day. I don't wanna hear any different.

    Europa confirmed that these phones are not coming directly from any warehouse AT&T may have them stashed at, they are coming from China. I have faith in that. Makes me feel good to know that our Chinese brothers and sisters will be sending out the phones directly to us. I am skeptical about AT&T doing this with ease. I'm sure they are a honorable enough company, but the customer service, for me in the past, has been sketchy that is why I don't have faith in them. That is also why I didn't want to order my phone through them. Apple I can count on. AT&T my bill is GR8 but I always got different or wrong answers to things when I would call them, so I stopped in 08 and I always deal directly with Apple. But, I think this will work out.

    Although exhausted, I am so STOKED RIGHT NOW! :ROFLMAO:

    Wow I posted this in another thread, but its more relevant here. I had a similar situation happen. I ordered the phones but we used my fiances debit card. I got an email from AT&T (not card company) saying this:

    Thank you for your recent purchase at att.com.
    AT&T is working with a leader in Identity Verification services to reduce the risks associated with identity theft, protecting you and AT&T. To ensure the security of your online purchase, we cannot process your order until your identity has been verified.
    Please call us at xxxx-xxx-xxxx by October 14, 2011 so we can verify your identity. When speaking with our AT&T team, you will be asked to answer unique and personal questions that are intended to verify your identity.

    Order Specialists are available to assist you:

      • Monday through Saturday: 10 AM – 11 PM (Eastern Time)



      • Sunday: 10 AM - 9 PM (Eastern Time)
    If we don't hear from you by October 14, 2011 your order will be canceled automatically.

    Will be calling at 10:00AM Sharp. I am pretty sure they think since I bought the phones in my name and used someone elses card - I am doing illegal stuff. Hopefully they put it through otherwise im putting the order through Apple on my own card.

    My confirmation email came in from AT&T almost instantly (time stamped at 4:44am EST).

    same thing happened to me..............they only asked about 1 of the charges, when there were 2............

    i said yes it is legitimate and she said OK............

    didn't happen last year.............

    I got the same email about CC funds verification... I'm on hold with att right now...

    I ordered 2 phones from Apple at around 6:30am ET and got confirmation emails for both phones immediately after I authorized the purchase. It also states they will be delivered by 10/14. My credit card sent me alerts for the transactions which I have set up so this is good news for me.

    With Rogers I'm #1460 in line, they charged a $40 reservation fee to my next phone bill instead of asking for credit card information. I don't know when I'll be able to pick it up, but it says I'll receive regular e-mails about when I can. I'll get credited back the $40 once I can go pick the phone up.

    I don't understand how some people are getting the confirmation emails from AT&T instantly and then some haven't gotten theirs.

    I received my confirmation email instantly from ATT. I checked my bank account online and it is showing nothing. No charges or pre-authorizations. Should I be concerned?
