Considering that 5.1 beta 1 is out and doesn't do crap to fix the battery issue, I'm going to put my money on no 5.0.2 and they'll go straight to 5.1 in a month or so.

The battery issue is really strange. I never had a problem. A friend of mine had the issue and it was fixed in the last update.

I agree with others, I have an iPhone 4 with the most current updates and it works as well as it did when I got it in September 2010.

I still doubt we'll see a 5.0.2, Apple just re-released 5.0.1 and 5.1 is on like it's 3rd beta. Just saying...

I don't see a re-release of 5.0.1 I've just checked in the settings of my 4S

White iPhone 4S 32GB.
2011 MacBook Pro 2.4GHz 8GB 15".
White iPad 2 32GB.
iPod Nano 16GB 2010.

It's an updated version of 5.0.1. It will be available to those who are not already on 5.0.1. If you are already on 5.0.1, you'd have to delete the current .ipsw from your computer, download the new 5.0.1 and then restore. This is the first time that Apple has done this. I'm not sure why they didn't call it 5.0.2 and make it available to everyone. It must not be very different from the original 5.0.1.

The original 5.0.1 was released in November:

The other original 501 was released in the 1890s:

That's very strange. 5.0.1.001 or something to make it minor but different.

My tin hat is reporting that marketing wants at least two shots at the battery fix.

Then why not make it available to everyone? It can't help those of us who are already on 5.0.1 a. If they really think it will help, they'd call it 5.0.2. I think the difference is minor.

Oh, the logic might be to not roll it to those on 5.0.1 already and offer just to those on 5.0 .

Ok, now I'm guessing live betas and watching which approach is better. Nothing wrong with that. Very smart actually if that's why.

It looks like it's just a minor update to fix a SIM card error.
