So, I'm curious as to whether people are going to go ahead and upgrade to iOS 6 now, or wait for the jailbreak to be available before updating? I have an iPhone 4s, which I'm sticking with for now, and think I may hold off for the jailbreak for that, but will go ahead and update my iPad 2.

What's everyone else doing?

I am updating as we speak, since I am getting the iPhone 5. I want something to distract me, and I would like to understand iOS 5 before iPhone 5. :)

How important is JB to you?

If you need it then wait because it could be months before iOS 6 is jailbroken..

Some people need JB because of available features / apps..

I have an iPhone 4 and waiting for the JB for iOS 6. With the i5, for obvious reasons, it will already come with ios 6 so I have no choice.

In all Siriousness, if I was keeping the 4S, I think I would be updating. This one's pretty huge. It would be a tough choice tho, I have my device fairly well tweaked out and am so used to all the customization.
Luckily, it's out of my hands since I'll be getting the 5 tomorrow.

The dev version of iOS6 was already jailbroken, even though it was tethered. So...there's a good chance that a tethered jailbreak will be released pretty soon.

The GM seed has been jailbroken already - the public release is usually the same as the GM so you can probably jailbreak it already...

I'm also sticking with my 4S, for the foreseeable future anyway. Right now I'm saying I'm going to stay jailbroken on iOS5. The thought of using a stock iPhone pains me so.

But I suspect there will be new issues surrounding the iP5.

My post was aimed at existing users of the iPhone 4 and 4S. I think it'll be a long while before we a see an iPhone 5 jailbreak... look how long it took the devs to crack the 4S? Whole new chip in the iPhone 5.

I was going to hold out but since my iPhone 4, jailbroken on 5.1.1, has become very unstable lately, and I can't stand it anymore, I am going to update and maybe JB later or get an iPhone 5 whichever comes first. lol

I agree. It is the one thing I do not like about upgrading devices every year. :(
