No. It's a theft deterrent. If the iPod is really his, he'll need to reset his password from another device. If he purchased it locked, it was likely stolen and it's basically a brick. iPhone/iPad/iPod thefts have decreased drastically as a result of the iOS 7 activation lock.

Today is Monday and he doesn't know what email he used on Friday? Before you start using unverified hacks that won't work, how about a piece of paper, pen and list the email addresses your friend might have used.

Better yet, take your receipt and return it to Best Buy.

I'm 61 years old with average old age memory problems, but I can rattle off about 30 passwords and 6 email addresses by heart, matching them with the correct site/app/whatever.

Sure. Whatever floats the boat.
Reading this thread is funny. I was wondering what happened to Iloveiphones. It seems he got caught in his lies and jumped ship. Or, maybe he walked the plank. Gets you to wonder if he really was a 13 year old, as he so said. "Whatever floats the boat," as he said. Looks like his boat sank. lol
