I actually kinda like how it is now, although I'm not a heavy photo taker.
The Years, Collections and Moments have been there since iOS 7. Apparently, not many used that feature. Most preferred the camera roll. If they just add the roll back, you should still have the other ones.

Cool. I prefer to use the camera roll exclusively and ignore the other tabs. I had a feeling they would add it back because of the complaints. I was talking to someone at work the other day who was asking me about iOS 8. He said he held off on installing it "because iOS makes your old pictures disappear." There's a lot of misunderstanding and resistance to change on this. Apple should just add it back.

Hey may have been referring to upgrading the photo library for iCloud Drive.

This Photos App is what us Aperture 3 users have to look forward.

Was afraid of this.

Train wreck.

Gonna have to switch to Capture One I think.

The "New Coke" syndrome! There's still many who believe Apple deleted their photos. What were they thinking? We don't need their help organizing our photos. Just give us a place to put them where they won't take space on the phone.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for 8.1 on October 20.
Agreed. It took almost six months for 7.1 to be released. We're not even one month into 8.x yet. 7.1 was in beta for at least three months. Beta 1 included a fix for the stock app bug that caused daily crashes for a lot of people yet we still had to wait several months for the public release. Meanwhile, incremental updates like 7.0.3 came out that did not include that bug fix.

Apple Pay is being launched this month so we may see this update sooner than later.
