Chwpn has explained Spire can't be updated to iOS 5.1+ as Apple doesn't hold the decrypted copy of the mentioned firmware. I have heard users complaining that non-official Siri ports aren't working after the Absinthe jailbreak. The good news is this is not the case for ports which doesn't require Spire.

Russian developers have released a SiriPort (Original) for iOS 5.1.1. It's the first legit Siri port that will bring Siri on your iPhone 4/3GS, iPod Touch 4G and iPad 1. The list excludes iPad 3, iPad 2 and iPod Touch 3G. You don't need an iPhone 4S or a Siri proxy server.

Steps for Siri Hunters

1. Jailbreak the supported iDevice with Absinthe 2.0.1 or sn0wbreeze 2.9.4.

2. Start Cydia and add the following source:

3. Install "Siriport" (Original).

4. Reboot the iDevice.

5. Download iPhone 4S Certificate from Email the file to yourself and open it on the device with your email.

6. Reboot again.

7. Launch Siri and say "Hi Siri". If it doesn't work, wait a while and try the same words again.

Repeat Step 6 until Siri is activated! Good luck :)

There never seems to be an end of people trying to get others to use questionable repositories.
I liked the Speech to Text. Not sure if that's available anymore. But I will just get Siri when I finally have an upgrade for iPhone 4S. By then the iPhone 5 may be out.
