Does anyone know how to make iOS go into the turn by turn view when not actually using the turn by turn directions? Sometimes I like to just have my navigon on when traveling known routes just for the heck of it. Yeah, I know, It's weird! Ha, ha!

Yeah, I know it uses data but I have unlimited data and have never even hit the level where they throttle you.

In my experience, navigating with Apple maps uses just a few megabytes per day. It will barely make a dent in your data plan even if you use it every day.

I use my Turn by turn almost everyday
It uses not much Data at all
We are new to MD and I have no clue where to find places or how to get there.
I actually find Apple maps better! It does not take me to businessses which have closed down 3 years ago like Google did!

Anyone figure out how to get maps to go into turn by turn view without setting a destination yet?

You could always just zoom in to your location and tap 3D and the compass-assisted GPS option. Not quite the same as the nav view, but as close as you'll get without entering a destination.
