HI, I searched but was not able to find what I need.

If I log on to my Gmail account at a remote location using my iPhone, what IP address does it show as being used?

Would it be different if I was using an available wireless signal as compared to the Apple network?

Thanks in advance,
Pete

It'll show the IP address for gmail. Isn't that the way all web-based email servers work?

It matters in this case as I was banned off a forum and I wanted to create another account and log back in (Banned for a bogus reason and want to see whats being said, not to cause trouble)

Thanks

Your IP address has nothing to do with Gmail. Your IP address when you have no WiFi and connect via Edge will be a public address doled out by that network.

If you're on a WiFi network, when you look in settings on the iPhone, you'll see a private (translated) IP address that is not seen by web sites you visit etc. - and you really need to look at the router you're connecting out through, which is the device that will have a public IP. It's the public IP that will be seen by whatever site it is you're concerned about.

Basically if you connect right now from a home wireless network, and connect tomorrow from a public WiFi spot at Mcdonalds (or wherever) the IP address will be different ...
