iPad calendar

    Hi I just got my iPad and am having difficulty using the pre- loaded calendar. I can open it but I do not know how to add an event. There is no + button to add something new. Please help!

    There is a plus symbol at the bottom right hand corner of the calendar page to add new entries.

    Thanks for responding but I do not see a symbol like that. What I see s a box that say "today" and a sliding I onto change days. Is it a defective app?

    I just checked my settings and I can't see why I wouldn't have that symbol. Sorry if I sound ridiculous but I feel like I'm missing something!

    Almost. It looks,Ike that minus the icons on upper left. Calendar and invitations. And no plus sign in lower right. This is a new I pad so it's the first time im using the calendar function

    Are you backing up from iCloud, if so is it turned on?

    No I. Not backing up from I cloud I do not have an I cloud account

    Have you tried exiting out of the calendar app? Double tap the menu button to bring up the task manager. Tap and hold the calendar icon till a "-" sign appears on the icon's top left. Tap the "-" sign to shut the app, then tap anywhere on the main screen to close the task manager.

    Thank you so much for your time and patience. I did as you suggested and there was no change. Should I take it to the Apple store?

    I did some searches and the main issue I found was the calendar not being turned on in iCloud. The first 5 gigs is free on iCloud so it will not cost you anything to set up iCloud and turn the calendar on to see if it works.

    Sorry it took so long to reply. As a school teacher I find that my personal stuff gets put o. The back burner. That being said, I went to settings and clicked on I cloud and put in my I'd and password an it keeps telling me that it cannot connect to server meanwhile I have a strong signal strength. Any ideas as to why this is happening?
