The front camera is around 1 MP (.7 I think) - and the front is VGA (.3 MP). Your pictures aren't fuzzy because something is wrong with your iPads camera. They are fuzzy because the iPad cameras are meant primarily for FaceTime and thereforee not true HD by any stretch of the imagination.

You dissected that from the original post?

Granted the camera isn't the best. However comma the pics shouldn't be fuzzy. Mine never were.
Big difference between fuzzy and normal and hd.

Hmm if that truly is the case - then my parents, my sister, and a few friends of mine all have defective iPad 2 front and rear cameras. Even in ample sunlight - the pictures taken with any of the iPad 2's I have used come out 'speckly' - which is also what I would call fuzzy. Not Blurry - just pixelated like a low resolution picture blown up a little would look.

Here is a pic taken with the iPad. Would you not consider this fuzzy when compared to the one below it taken by the iPhone?

I agree with Citsur86. Neither of the iPad's cameras take good pictures. You'll run into the same problem with the iPod Touch. The iPhone is the only iDevice with a good camera. The 4S has an 8 MP with exceptional optics.

I agree with the other posts. The still camera on the iPad sucks. Pretty worthless for pictures. Takes great video but is really huge for that purpose. I would have rather had a good front facing camera for facetime and no rear facing camera.

Don't really use the camera that much to take pics because of the size and incovenience of the iPad. I tend to use the 4s because of the superior quality. I really only use the camera on the iPad for video chat.

I didn't get an iPad for taking pictures, the camera isn't worth much and its too bulky for pointing the camera anyway. I think I've taken just one picture in 6 months with it :)
