I know I’m probably opening Pandora’s box by giving you this information, but you should get coconutBattery. It is a macOS application that will tell you, among other things, “your battery health (capacity in relation to the original capacity your battery had when it left the factory).”
So you will have a very specific numerical answer to the question of whether your battery is bad.
Here’s an iOS battery app that lets you check battery charge cycles without having to connect to a macOS machine. Hurry up and get it before Apple takes it down. This isn’t the kind of app they have a history of being cool with.
