i went to the At&T store today and the guy told me my plan would go up 15 dollars from what it is now. He said now data and text is separate so it would be 30 for data and 15 for my 1500 text. i was under the impression that my rate plans would stay the same. Help please

The 3G iPhone data plan is indeed $30, and none of the calling plans include 200 text messages with them anymore. And 1500 text messages are indeed now $15 per month, instead of $10 as with the V1 iPhone plans. AT&T published the 3G iPhone rates in early July, IIRC, so they've been out for a while - you can see them on their site right here.

You can keep your same voice plan. Maybe that is what you hear would stay the same.:)
The data plan is definitely higher.
