It won't work since the iPhone is wider so it doesn't even fit in the hole provided. Just checked.

My iPhone 3G fits in both my kitchen (undercounter) iHome and my clock radio iHome.
And both charge it.

My Pioneer Nav unit in my truck will not charge the 3G, but it did charge my v1.

most probably it fits in the Bose version. I'm referring to the alarm clock/radio iHome. I believe it will fit if you remove the whole little plastic adapter piece for iPod/video/nano etc.

It works with my iHome but it will not charge, in fact, I have another iPhone portable stereo speakers, and Bose-like speakers all which use to charge my v1, now with v2 it will play but it won't charge.:(
