I am going to Italy and I am wondering if I will be able to use my phone there. My provider is sprint. Does anyone know how this works?

Best is to have it unlocked (I believe Sprint will do it for you) and when you get there buy prepaid sim.
I do that when I go to germany. I am not certain who the Carriers are in Italy .

We have Tim, 3, WIND and another one I can't remember. That's actually a good question since I'm going to Italy in a few months.

OH are you like me taking empty suitcase ..bring back FULLY LOADED
Not this time. My sisters do that, and they never forget to bring benni something :)

To answer the OP question. The only way I know with the 4S is to jailbreak and unlock it. Almost everything is pre-paid over there, Easy in an out of an electronic store to buy a sim and charge it in any tobacco store.

With the jailbreak finally coming out today it should be easy to do.
