AT&T wants it to called 4g, but they have no real concept of what 4g really is.

    In this case, it's marketing.

It's like they are trying to lure people in by stating its 4G. Some people don't know the difference and will blindly buy because they want 4G, not even knowing what it is. My buddy got and Android phone and constanly gives me crap about the iPhone not having it, when 99% of the time he does not have 4G coverage. And they call us fanbois. ;)

WOW! I'm going to have to defend this at work. AT&T speeds are akin to the speeds that all the other companies are saying their 4G is and now AT&T wants the 4G moniker as well. OH boy! The folks@ work who can't get and or HATE Apple and the iPhone are going to have a field day with this.

Just Friday someone said to me, "The new iPhone isn't 4G. What is Apple waiting for, everyone is passing them by." I just smiled and said nothing.

That's true and I loved when Apple did that on the keynote. Unfortunately, I have to deal with folks who want to believe that their carrier and their phones are true 4G and Apple is not only behind and delusional but people who have the iPhone are idiots.

It's hard but I will not try to convince them. I just enjoy my new iPhone 4S, you know, the one they all wish they had.

How Rude of Me, Welcome to the EIC Paul Mullin! I figure you're new, you have 2 posts.

Wow funny they are gonna call it 4G. I guess the way I look at it is all (most) of the other carriers are calling false 4G networks 4G AND Benefiting from it. Why shouldn't AT&T do the same? Business is businesss.

Do we have to do anything to get HSPA+? Do most areas have it? My friend said I would only have it at home and I would need an amplifier
