The s3 is too big (used one for two months) you can't do things one handed on it that's for sure.
Is it really "proven balance"? It just ignorance. As some one so talks to people all day everyday about their phones the biggest reason I hear from people about staying with Samsung is that they hear "Apple is confusing, otherwise I would get it". Scared? Don't like change? Whatever the case may be. Apple has the corner on the younger and older generation. Internal studies have shown that the galaxy pertains to specific categories of people. Not a range like the iPhone.
Look for a article on cnet about Surveys and stats showing a trend among youth Preferring Android over the fact that every soccer mom and grandma have iPhones.

The iPad mini isn't a cell phone, though. I have one and it serves a different purpose from a mobile phone. If anything, the fact that it exists makes it more unlikely that Apple will increase the screen size again.
