Here's a quote from @Planetbeing:

"Yeah, I'm not really sure what all the doom and gloom is about. The fact is, I have an untethered iOS 6.0.2 JB running on my iPhone 5 right now. The reasons it's not released are because 1. releasing it would burn an exploit we want to save for ourselves so we can always get in to look at new firmware and help JB in the future, 2. iOS 6.1 is coming very soon and will likely break a small part of it anyway, there's no point in sacrificing the many bugs it won't break.

Anyway, where there are 4+ bugs (that it took to get this to work), there's gotta be one or two more so while jailbreaking is getting harder, reports of its death are highly exaggerated."

I read this earlier. Great news. And great logic on the timing of the release. What a dedicated bunch of support for all of us who rely upon them for our versatility. Now..... Just waiting for iOS 6.1 to release!

I read the story above but there's something I don't understand. Once iOS 6.1 is going to be released, they will make public the Jailbreak for iOS 6.1 or 6.0.2? :) Thanks!

If jailbreaks are going to start taking this long or longer to come out they are, for all intents and purposes, a done deal for me. I just don't have the patience to wait on upgrading for so long.

I was really hoping that pod2g would start working on the iPhone 5 jailbreak this week, and it looks like he has. :) pod2G was the one who brought us the iPhone 4S Absinthe jailbreak last year, but he has been busy working on his iPad app (podDJ) the past several months, so he wasn't able to devote any time to the iPhone 5 jailbreak. His app was completed and released in the App Store last week, so hopefully he'll work on the new jailbreak now.

I read somewhere that planetbeing already had the Jailbreak just about ready.
But was not wanting to release it yet so that the exploit is not found by Apple?
