I have a Co-worker who has what she believes is an iPhone 5S. It may just be a 5.

Anyhow, it won't boot. When you push power button, after a few seconds the Apple logo comes on the screen for about 2-3 seconds and goes off. That's it. It's been plugged in and charged, but no change. I tried the hard reset using the Power button and the home button at the same time. Nothing.

She has NEVER plugged this into iTunes EVER. She's had it around a year to a year and a half. If anyone has any ideas, let me know. She's probably going to take it to AT&T this afternoon and see what they diagnose.

It needs to be restored in iTunes. If the computer doesn't recognize it, she'll need to put it in DFU mode. She can use her iCloud backup after the restore.

Does the fact that she has NEVER plugged it into iTunes matter?

No. Just remind her to update iTunes first. Did she have iCloud backups on?

Not sure. She did mention getting some of her photos from her phone on her iPad via iCloud, so she may have.
